Mixed technique: phototransfer on galvanized iron, rust and acrylics. Approx 58x58 cm
The work aims to represent the need for self-worship, exhibitionism and obsessive voyeurism in the modern world. Appearing on social networks seems to be a desire driven by a need associated with social approval, this exposure, personal exaltation, this cult of the self-image leads to wanting to be accepted and admired by others.
The image consists of a series of 5 photographs printed using the photographic transfer technique on iron, in which the same figure is immortalized in the act of performing the movements of the sign of the cross. Each photo is cropped and mixed with the others, as if to create a puzzle.
The work consists of a series of 5 photographs printed on iron (3 galvanized iron plates and 2 iron plates) using the manual photographic transfer technique. Some images have undergone a rusting process using acids, while others have been kept in an original way to which I have added some interventions of painting with acrylic colors. Subsequently, the 5 slabs were cut to obtain 36 pieces, which were assembled to form a single work.
